Yes, yes, get it out of your system. Anyway, I won't be posting the recipe for this one because:

  1. The recipe was written very poorly and it took a lot of energy to decode what it was saying (with conflicting ingredient amounts and names)
  2. I think I can make a better version. The end result was good but not up to my standards.

The most important thing to note with these type of cookies is that even though the recipe told me to put it as a dollop, the cookie doesn't spread a lot (it pretty much only balloons up). I recommend you compact it down to a thinner shape instead, otherwise you end up with oatmeal creamBALLS like me.

I tasted the recipe's buttercream frosting and ehhhh, so I changed it and added some flavoured liquer + other stuff and now it shines quite brightly with the oaty background.

Since the recipe's proportions were off, I had quite a lot of leftover buttercream. I decided to whip together a quick batch of buttercream cookies instead.

The one on the left was my first test bake attempt and I quickly realized there wasn't enough flour. I used a dark 70% chocolate chip mixed in with some extra coffee liquer.

The picture on the right is my first time using a broiler. I've never had one! I've always seen youtube recipes say, "oh, you can leave it there for X minutes." So I put it on the top rack and turned on the broiler and within a minute it started to SMOKE.

It burned, though not too bad since I caught it early. But whew, opening the door was a quick billlow of smoke. My partner dipped it in some chocolate oat milk and she loved it.

Overall, the oatmeal creampies are pretty nice, but my partner saw the finished result and asked why I made the cream when I could just--
