oh man this year was a great event.
- no injuries! this was my #1 goal
- had fun riding with my dad and my company team!
- expected to go 12mph, ended up going ~18-20 mph with the fast group! turns out if you ride 100+ miles a week you get strong (also the wind certainly helped)
- did it all on a salsa fargo, which is technically a variety of mountain bike. i spent a lot of my time on my fastest gear to keep up, but i kept up
definitely recommend the event, even if you're a more casual rider. it's a great energy riding with thousands of other people and a nice place to experiment with group riding techniques
