That means I have been hospitalized for eight of your earth months. It looks highly unlikely that I'll be out of here before 2024, and honestly I hate that. My recovery is going well, great even. No concerns there. But I'm still stuck. Eventually I might get to leave though, and that's still going to be expensive and difficult. If you want to throw a few cashes my way in preparation for the day when I can leave, the link is here: https://ko-fi.com/jebwrench

It is so wild to me that they're keeping you until you're able to establish housing. when I was case manager I remember a patient being discharged after 30 days on the dot despite not having housing, not even allowed to keep the wheelchair they wheeled her out on.

That's so wild! yeah down here in the states insurance usually only pays for 30 days unless you really push, so patients often have to be discharged after that. if they return through the ER a few hours later that's a new admission and they get another 30 days. sometimes there's a rinse repeat to it lol our healthcare system is as stupid as it is cruel haha. I think it also comes from us having a cultural fear of institutionalization due to how people used to get wearhoused, it's exceedingly difficult to keep someone hospitalized here if you don't have a concrete plan to get them out

but yeah all to say I'm glad you're able to stay safe at least and also damn I really hope you can get out soon!
