i set up a (hopefully) permanent half life deathmatch server
you can find it in the server browser as "friends of eggbug" or you can connect to cloud.lizard.tools using the console. the server password is "eggbug".

In the console how do you add the password, is it a part of the connect function in console or is it something separate? i'm less than literate when it comes to old school multiplayer stuff so I'm doing my best to relearn cause It'd be neat to play with my bro on this server!
oh sorry i forgot to mention that! if you join using the console you have to type "password eggbug" before doing "connect cloud.lizard.tools"
It keeps saying the connection failed, am i doing something wrong or is the server offline? I can include a screenshot of the console if need be. is it password eggbug connect cloud.lizard.tools or two separate commands. once again apologies for my illiteracy
hmmm, i just tried and it worked on my end.
can you see the server in the server list? that's always an option, although it's a bit cumbersome bc there's no filtering afaict
connect cloud.lizard.tools; password eggbug
if people want something to just copypaste
officially it's connect server:port; password pwordhere but doing password first probably works too
i had similar issues where it would say wrong password if the password's wrong, but not join if the passwords right.
go into the server browser, add the server as a favorite, then join that way, should work then
