The resident robot headmate, who's been fronting a lot more lately (and made us buy a bunch of robot wars/battlebots toys on ebay LMAO).
Aster is obviously heavily inspired by the Tallnecks from HZD, though in-lore given a lot more awareness and agency when doing reconnaissance routes along a contested cold-war border. That's all thousands of years in the past, though, and in the post-post-apocalypse she's a gentle giant that just chills with the revitalized fauna and serves as a messenger (or taxi) between the scattered sapient villages.
Standing roughly 100 feet tall at the base of the neck and 175 at the head, she was designed to be an invulnerable bulwark that could never be forcibly displaced from her routes while using state of the art recon equipment lofted high into the air to provide unparalleled live data back to the command center.
While the vast majority of her allotted weight capacity went towards those defensive capabilities, she was secretly equipped with an advanced flank-mounted rocket battery hidden behind the grey shutter you can see in this piece. Though naturally at manufacture, it was much better hidden—in the few instances she poised herself to fire, the original panel that moved aside to reveal the rockets sustained damage that any other part of her would have shrugged off until it simply stopped functioning.
Nowadays, that replacement panel only raises for regular maintenance.
