five hundred thousand books were just removed from the internet archive and if their appeal doesn't work out, that'll be it. there'll be little legal precedent left for IA to utilize against what might be the watershed lawsuit of digital preservation.

I hesitate to make another one of these posts, but June has been an especially rough month:

• A job prospect I was banking on to keep me a float fell through at the last minute
• My computer (the thing I use for freelance) stopped working and I ended up having to shell out 2500 to Apple on credit.
• In April I got a gender affirming procedure that I was told would go into my out of pocket expenses through insurance. This would've made it possible for me get part of the cost forgiven because of my low income status. Last week I found out my insurance won't let it go into out-of-pocket expenses afterall and I now owe over 2k
• Kaiser forgot to charge me my premium for May and June so now I owe triple my premium (totaling $900+) for the month of July
• All my payable freelance or client work ended this month
• Before all of this, I already couldn't afford rent for the month of July because of the aforementioned job that fell through on Friday.

Literally anything helps at this point. I'm losing weight because I've been having trouble affording groceries and I'm mostly surviving off of what I can get at the local food bank.
