I love this genre of video game prompt where it's stating something that is extremely obvious but also completely non-obvious at the same time. Like yeah of course the car can be used to go places! Except in the context of a video game you would not assume without being told that you can interact with the car to go places.

Like every single game that has money in it has, at some point, to be like "money can be exchanged for goods and services" at you, pretty much. You don't know! You wouldn't immediately assume!

In this case it's actually kind of important for the specific reason that there are lots of cars but you're only allowed to use this one car to get around, because this car is Saga and Alex's, which Saga and Alex know, but the player doesn't, because FBI agents don't have special cars and also it's probably supposed to be Dale Cooper's car so it just looks totally generic

But I don't quite think I would have worded it this way

i have a whole thing about how the pursuit of Realistic Graphics has led to video game environments with a vast number of familiar objects laying around, and virtually all of them are useless. static geometry. welded to the ground. to the point that actual useful items are so hard to find that they just fucking glow now

picking up plates and spoons in oblivion is stupid but at least you can do it
