I'm always a sucker for "this is the final boss" mobile suits, but the color palette for Paptimus's THE-O has always struck me as uniquely ugly. I decided I wanted to do a new palette that stuck with a yellow-gold theme, but didn't infringe too much on the nearby yellow-gold Hyaku Shiki. I'm happy with where it landed, although it took a bunch of paint jobs to get right!

The red on the tubing is red drybrush overtop of black spray paint, which I think worked out well. I simply do not have the patience or the hand eye coordination for panel lining.

A fun suit, although its girth makes it a little hard to pose. I love its big tall pope-hat head.

Oh this palette is good and the dry brushing was very effective. The O is a funky guy, with a few design elements I've always been kinda iffy on (particularly the crotch beam saber arm). It was funny watching Dragon's Heaven last year and realizing that a lot of the stuff I like about The O, Kobayashi reused for Shian, and the villain robots are Baund Docs.
