A mayor is when a majority of a town has a crush on one person and then later most people end up hating them
one time my mayor locked herself in the town hall overnight because it was both Halloween and a Full Moon and she didn't want to be killed by werewolves so you are correct
there were a few years where the town was encircled by an ever-churning gyre of thousands upon thousands of blackbirds. she would stand in the road and scream at them and they would scream back
she was eventually replaced by a guy who kept trying to decorate the sidewalk outside the pub with elaborate flower displays. he declared every enclosed patch of grass on town land to be an individually named Park and commissioned brass archways to be placed in each one
these are, without a doubt, some of the most mayoral stories i have ever heard
