The Sandman ★★☆☆☆
Watched this over Christmas at my parent’s house. I suppose it’s a decent adaptation but didn’t draw me in that much for most of it. I did cry at the bit during the bits with Death, though.
Outlaw Star ★★★☆☆
Revisted a show I liked as a teenager and expected I would probably hate it now. Actually it starts off pretty strong! And Aisha Clan-Clan rules. The show should have been about her. It’s a pretty good show when it’s just the crew meeting each other and fucking around. When the plot starts to kick in it goes down hill a lot though. Also it’s misogynist and homophobic.
Russian Doll series 2 ★★☆☆☆
Again, just like no real strong feelings on it? It was good TV. Maybe at the start of the year I was just kind of going through stuff and needed shit to fill time but wasn’t that capable of engaging with a lot of it.
The Owl House series 3 ★★★★☆
A shame they had to rush through it but glad that we got it.
Poker Face ★★☆☆☆
I wanted to like it more than I did and I think there’s a lot of good ideas here. The Columbo setup where we see the murder first then Charlie comes in is nice, but I feel like the gimmick of it being every time a flashback where it turns out she was here all along off screen is both repetative and often doesn’t add much. Her lie detection super power is fine but I dunno they should probably just lean into the Columbo-ness more and have her generally be onto the murderer from the start rather than teasing us with when will she eventually notice it.
The Big O ★★★★☆
Revisiting another teenage favourite. Very much debating whether I should give it four stars but also who cares no point in worriyng about it too much these reviews are not serious. Maybe the first series four stars and the second less. A lot of that is just the change in animation style and the much worse robot designs in the second series. But it’s a cool show and who doesn’t love an ending that is absolutely incomprehensible bullshit?
Inside No. 9 series 7 & 8 ★★★★☆
A show that is very hit and miss and a bit mired by the compulsion to do dark twist endings, but when it lands it lands. 3 by 3 was the standout for me here.
Dragon Ball episodes 1→13 (Emperor Pilaf Saga) ★★★☆☆
Fun enough when it’s not being pervy and do I really like how Toriyama drew vehicles.
Steven Universe ★★★★★
I didn’t rewatch the whole show but I did rewatch a bunch of stuff that I have particular fond memories of, including The Return, Earthlings and the entire end run of the show starting from A Single Pale Rose. Good fucking show.

various misc episodes Columbo s8, 9 & 10 I watched with a friend ★★★★☆
Even these in these revival series most of these were good, with a few standouts. A bunch of them they are searching for gimmicks for them that were very unnecessary and god Peter Falk was getting old by the end of this. Also the last ever episode (from fucking 2003) starts with music that was used as part of the Kaiba Hacking Theme in Yu-Gi-Oh!
Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake ★★★★☆
I never liked the Fionna & Cake episodes so I did not expect this to be good, but it was! Cool!
What We Do in the Shadows series 1→3 ★★★★☆
Special fondness for this as I was watching it with a girlfriend :)
Black Mirror series 6 ★★★★☆
I thought after the first two I thought that Netflix and streaming would be the big theme of the series but it turned out not be a running thing. Anyway I don’t think this series had a single bad episode and lmao at where they went with Mazey Day.
Sonic Prime series 2 ★★☆☆☆
It’s fine I guess. The Eggmen villains are rubbish though so it’s good that Tails Nine takes over as that. The show does a lot of wheel spinning, though.
Derry Girls series 3 ★★★★☆
I do think it’s the weakest of the three so I’m glad that they wrapped up on it and oh my fucking god what was that scene with Chelsea Clinton lmao why would you end a show like that.
My Adventures with Superman ★★★★☆
You Will Believe a Man Can Lie is probably my favourite episode title of any TV show now. Just perfect. I am giving it a star more than it probably really warrants just for that. Not that it’s not a really good show, but the second half feels very rushed. They absolutely needed more than ten episodes for this.

I think I liked when I saw it it but I barely remember anything that happened honesty.

This really gets mired in the underground fighting tournament. I miss when Baki was fighting apes and shit. Also the 3D intro is hilariously ugly. Not that the rest of it isn’t ugly, it is Baki.
The Wheel of Time series 2 ★★☆☆☆
This works a lot better than the first series. It is actually watchable television.

Fun twist on a zombie show mixed with period political drama. I think it also does a good job at having stuff that seems out of place or plot hole-shaped at first that then turn out to be very deliberate. I think the second series is not as good
