I had a dream where there was some lost experimental Christmas episode of Father Ted on television called “Father Ted’s Fake Master” (as in The Master from Doctor Who) where Dermot Kelly and Rosemary Henderson were going around in-character as Ted and Assumpta but filmed like a cheaply produced documentary framed as them doing a tour of the countryside talking about life and the priesthood while clips of the show played, but also framing it as if there was some secret villain behind a lot of the things that happened.
Towards the end Assumpta casually mentions a gay priest which seems to throw Ted and he is lost in thought for a bit. She asks if he wants to go back to talk about the gay priest thing but he says no and stairs off to the middle distance.
It then ends with him tearfully talking about all that he will do once he is over his “illness” (implicitly he is dying of something and clearly this is clearly some sort of goodbye from Dermot Morgan, even though actually he died quiet suddenly) as the theme music plays and a montage of clips from the show play, including many that were never actually in the show.
