Animals absolutely have their own language. My cat is very vocal. She talks to me a lot. I struggle to understand her much of the time but slowly my stupid, human brain is getting it. She meows, but she has specific meows! She has a meow for when her bowl is empty, she has a meow for when she brings me a toy and wants me to throw it. These two I have an easier time identifying than others. They represent an immediate need. She meows when she needs affection too. She has noises she makes when she sees a bird. When she is in a strange place. When she sees strange people. She talks to me so much and I love that I have learned, at least a little, to listen.
