Fucking hell I saw someone point out how Ricky being written as a stand-in Doctor for a bit results in Lindy suddenly acting like the perfect, eager Doctor Who companion after having previously been dismissive and having had so much trouble listening and looking past her bubble. Because when a white guy tells her she can do it she actually believes him.
and yet, a racist person is usually a selfish, rotten monster to the core in general, and even "fellow" white people will get thrown under the bus along with the undesirables should they ever feel the need.
