guess which bitch spent the last hour figuring out how to repair GRUB

I have no idea why this happened. I have not changed any display settings as far as I can remember. I only started using Manjaro last week and I was really liking it until now.

Edit: okay I fixed it by creating a file in ~/.config/plasma-workspace/env/ with export GDK_SCALE=1

I am downloading a Manjaro ISO. My desktop environment is rapidly crumbling I really need to do a fresh install.

I am taking Linux distro recommendations again. I have used Ubuntu for years but after the graphics drivers breaking again I want to try something else. I would prefer something that “just works” out of the box without having to fuck around with or think too hard about drivers or kernels or anything but I am comfortable with a command line.

Would be used for:

• Daily general desktop usage (internet browsing, IMing, etc)
• Games (Steam, Itch, etc)
• Podcast recording and editing
• Programming (mostly using VS Code these days)

Nothing hyper specialised. KDE Plasma desktop would probably be a plus because I like KDE Connect. I would also be looking to have it alongside a Windows partition if that makes a difference. Encrypted filesystem would be cool too.
