[back to overview]
And here we are at the main character i've been building for the DLC!
In contrast to my first Str/Int build, this one focuses much more on Int, but unlike the second sorcerer, this one is more heavily themed, focusing on gravity and crystal sorceries.
Once again using some more weapons i hadn't before, starting off with the Crescent Moon Axe and swapping over to the Darkmoon Greatsword once i finished Ranni's questline.
I also wanted to try stacking up charged attack buffs (Godfrey Icon and and Axe Talisman) and continue my quest to get used to swapping between one-handed and two-handed more often. A success on both counts, i'd say!
I actually got pretty lucky when i was going for the Crescent Moon axe, which was great fun. I hadn't entirely expected to like the greataxe moveset as much as i did, but the combination of overhead light attacks and the Crescent Moon's signature wide sweeping heavy attacks (shared with the Axe of Godfrey, as i found out) evoked much of the same enjoyment i got out of thrusting swords, if in a slightly different format.
The Darkmoon also turned out to be great against Mohg, with the weapon art very useful for reliable mid-range staggers and very good damage. I may end up sinking more points into Strength depending what new weapons we find in the DLC (or even faith!) but for the first minimal-spoilers run i've decided not to care about missing anything, which is in part why i'm going for this build.
Bog Standard Sorcery is fun to play, but thematically i find it a little basic, so i'm a bit more free to say "eh, i don't mind" if it turns out i missed something super cool. Chances are it won't align particularly well with the build anyway, especially for the weirder stuff like Arcane and Hexes that are no doubt going to be heavily expanded upon.
Can't wait!!! And yet i must. alas
