fun trick: using Gransax's Bolt lets you get a charged L2 off during his midphase transition because it lifts you off the ground!
also convenient because he's weak(est) to lightning and pierce attacks
i've tried using spells on this character but i think i would need to recalibrate myself too much to do it that way. feeling like spear and shield is the way to go
not even shield poking, i'm mostly trying for roll attacks between his swings, and taking advantage of the downtimes where he goes more passive
