heh. read one too many sexist snk dev team thing and got an idea.
what if suddenly, three people become Aware that they're in a 1.) game, 2.) a SEXIST game, and 3.) wish to escape to the REAL world to get out of it.
the three main characters are based off of the girls who have gotten the MOST shit from snk as a company: mai shiranui, king, and yuri sakazaki.
and to add onto this, as we're going with a theme of "women and gender marginalized people alike are treated poorly within fighting games, especially ones where the character designers and creators are male dominated", mai's counterpart is a trans woman (for fetishized reasons), king's counterpart is "just as much of a man as she is a woman" like in the snk interview about her for art of fighting (i choose to interpret her as an androgyne), and yuri is a cis girl For Now, until she starts questioning things outside of what the creators programmed her to do (she ends up genderfluid and genderfree much like my interpretation of dan).
this also sets up to criticize the lack of positive fat characters of ANY gender in snk games, so the chang koehan counterpart is one of the first to wake up (along with choi bounge, who is a bisexual trans woman/effeminate cis man bigender person, and in japanese terms would be categorized as an onee and identifies as an onee once she escapes the game, but it's treated as a joke along with his dwarfism by the creators of the game), in addition to the joking suggestions that the yuri counterpart "might as well be fat because she has a fat ass and she eats like a pig" (setting detail to be misogynistic to women and mean about fat people who eat a lot at the same time). (yuri's counterpart eventually escapes and gains weight and basically looks like Short Afab Nonbinary Dan, which is explicitly the good ending).
i will involve a shermie counterpart. and though she is resistant to waking up at first (due to her believe that she can only be loved if she fits stereotypical feminine parameters), she eventually realizes that she can be loved no matter how weird she is and wakes up to her realization that she's a trans woman, unlike how the creators programmed her as "essentially physically genderless" (mixing a bit of lilith in there, but she's genderless in that while she has big boobs and exaggerated curves she has no genitalia or internal sex organs, much like barbie from the barbie movie).
