procedural shows are so funny because in order to sustain a season length, there's suddenly about 50 horrifying murderers wandering about the town. im watching Hannibal out of curiosity and like, i get that fucked up deaths are on the cards considering the series but "burying people alive to grow mushrooms out of them" is literally just one episode. a tuesday. old mr mcpherson just had a bad week.
it's a decent show so far but some of these Killer Of The Day plots are so ridiculous even Criminal Minds would've left them on the cutting room floor. it's doing the neurotic detective thing where the murders reflect his psyche but idk, fungus making "social connections" is a bit of a stretch.
