Question of the Day!
What does your WoL/OC not realize they've forgotten?
New Sharlayan. His hometown. Y'orhen was only a child when the decision was made for him to move to Old Sharlayan with his father, and in the intervening years he's experienced so much that the idea of his old home seems to have slipped entirely from his mind. He remembers that he used to live there, as it was the reason he took up residence in Idyllshire, but he remembers nothing about what it was like to live there. The ruined buildings and overgrown streets stir something in his mind, but it's been so long that that's all it is anymore - stirrings of memory.
His mother had stayed behind when they left, of course. She wanted more than anything to defend the home she'd made with Y'vharn, but ultimately agreed it would be safer for Orhen to be moved away from the dangers that would soon befall those Dravanian Hinterlands. Eventually, she met with the adventurers and treasure hunters that would become the founders of Idyllshire, and agreed to help them in whatever capacity she could. If their home could not be spared the ravages of time, monsters, and the goblins of the Illuminati, then perhaps helping in the construction of a new home would be the next best thing.
It was here that Orhen reunited with her, and why he ultimately opted to make his permanent home in the adventurer's haven, but even meeting his mother again for the first time in decades wasn't enough to bring back what he had lost. But he didn't care, nor did he even notice. He's a sentimental lad by nature, but ultimately he's made more than his fair share of new memories in a new home to replace the ones that he'd let slip away from him.
