i was on a call trying to demo something unrelated, and ran past a chicken, scaring it, it ran through a campfire, caught fire, flapped into a cornfield, and set the entire cornfield alight. the corn fire generated enough popcorn to crash the editor

this was a direct self-own since i had myself implemented the chicken-spooking, fire propagation and cooking systems

Lots of really cool stuff this year, congratulations to everyone!

And if you'll allow me to get real for a second - Black Ice was in the running, and of course I'm a little bummed we didn't get any recognition. I know we're not done yet, and I know we're definitely not the kind of game that IGF seeks to highlight (I judge IGF most years!), but it still kind of sucks every time you don't get an award you tried for.

The 3D content alone has "Game Jam Challenge Mode" written all over it.
