I'm still working on my celebratory picture but it's been 5 years since I went with a random idea from a twitter post~
I could really go on forever about how much this project means to me. I always loved my girls of course but I just really wanted to challenge myself as an artist to hit every big stepping stone at one:
- getting better at backgrounds
- creating a set of full illustrations that pushed me to my limits each year
- getting better with graphic design and a process for it all
- drawing feet
I really love how much I've really been able to grow as an artist from this project. I'm taking a break from it this year (sorta!) but just doing it really makes me feel like a real artist. Even if I don't make a cent from selling the calendars or prints, I know I put my all into them and did my best to make great art of my girls. I'm always in an eternal summer thanks to these.
