Legends talk about a Subaru tuner from Saitama... They say he traveled all the way to Italy one day, in some picturesque coast town called Passignano. But instead of enjoying his vacation and seeing the beach, he met with an Italian engineer, and one thing led to another... He got his hands on a very, very strange kind of flat-12 engine, like no other in the world. Crated complete with parts. The Saitama tuner reportedly had the whole box smuggled out of Italy by lying on the manifest; the papers said it contained "imported wine." Japanese customs were none the wiser...
Today, the engine is nowhere to be found in the Saitama tuner's garage. When someone brings it up, he dismisses it. Baloney, hearsay, complete horseshit, in that dismissive tone of his and that holier-than-thou sneer on his face.
But when he's done working on the neighborhood's Subarus for the day, if you were to catch him driving home, you'd see him behind the wheel of an old Ferrari Testarossa 512 TR, all white with a tan interior, like in his favorite American TV show - Miami Vice.
But if you stay a little longer and pay close attention... you'll hear that engine sounds nothing like the Testarossa. It sounds far louder, more raw, one could even say... more like a Formula One engine. The neighborhood doesn't know, they can't tell the difference, a sports car is a sports car, they're all loud and fast, right? But if you know... You know.
