oh... I remember doing a bunch of ANSI as a teen, I should get into that again.

I remember at the time not wanting to do SharpSCII/PETSCII because it felt like was "easier" to get nice results on it compared to ANSI (the MZ-700 has a lot more drawing-suited shapes like that set of triangles, also the symbols are all 1:1 ratio), but these days I'm smart enough to recognize it's actually way more suited for what I think is interesting with textmode art - a lot of fancier ANSI ends up using either custom fonts or huge canvases so the pieces end up being more like pixel art with more granular dithering, while I'm mostly interested in using the specific shapes of a character set within a small canvas (not saying that there's no ANSI pieces like that, they just get overshadowed by the huge mural stuff IME)
