think i'm gonna call my game here since i'm not really getting excited about it any more - painting the map is fun to a point but right now my choices are either tediously cleaning up county-by-county in Rus or somehow picking at the HRE until it stops being a massive unmoveable blob in central europe.

i also ended up getting literally all the cultural innovations i could and that+development were focii for me (i'm a Tall Player through and through) so once i ran out of that i lost a lot of steam in my game. for my next run i wanna do something smaller-scale, maybe iberia or vikings

I very fun start I enjoyed was "The Lecherous Count" where you pick a minor count in France or something with limited to no dynasty and attempt to build out a massive dynasty entirely through seduction efforts. Extra credit if you try to only acquire land through marriages! I had a lot of fun doing this back in CK2.

Congratulations on reaching the "Fuck the HRE" ending :host-love:

yeah i wanna gun at something more heavily intrigue-based for a run, it seems fun… i had some really choice assassinations in this one, like stopping the mongol empire in its tracks with one

and yeah this run really made me appreciate how uniquely strong the HRE is, being able to indirectly gain territories with individual vassals but then protecting it all with the strength of the entire empire… felt like this game’s equivalent to a stellaris ancient civilization which it kind of is i guess
