this was a blast! sat down at a riverbank in a nearby park and tried to do some water reflection stuff. honestly this composition was too bit to really focus on that but i like how it turned out overall, especially considering it’s my first ‘real’ attempt.
i’m sad i got turned off of plein air in art school where i was terrible at it bc i had no painting experience compared to any of my peers, but at least i’m rediscovering it now
This looks so good! The shadows of the ripples on the riverbed really give it a magnificent depth!
I am very jealous, because once i finally got my easel it has naturally been raining since. I'm hoping to go tomorrow or maybe later in the evening if it's not pouring rain!

It's a wooden Vang easel, very bare bones but it's surprisingly light yet sturdy! It doesn't have a tray though, but I think that's okay.
ooh nice! mine didn’t come with a tray either but i just cut some plywood into a shape that can slot on if i need one
