i like to explore themes of plurality with tron: ghost in the machine, because honestly, the original comic does just an okay enough job at it to be compelling, but a bad enough job at it that two things are true:
- anything i write for it as a plural author two decades later will be an improvement
- it gives me room to explore plural themes without worrying that people expecting an autobiographical, no-frills, nothing-problematic approach to that subject, will read this story and get offended that my writing isn't entirely unproblematic
anyhow, this is hardly a plural story? the main character doesn't know he's in a plural story. but here's a piece i wrote last night that i think reads the way breakcore sounds.
