every time i see people talk about "not supporting" some video game for vaguely leftist reasons i just wonder if any of these people factor in the heavy mineral externalities of their gaming habits. your computer, your consoles are impossible under capitalism without actual slaves
but nobody proposes giving up video games as a hobby, only showcasing their moral aesthetics by deliberately not playing one of the thousands of games they are not playing
the point of this is not "self imposed austerity is good" but that "mass production does not take you into account unless you are attacking it" with a side of "loudly not buying something is not the same as a boycott"
do or not do whatever you gotta, the capitalists were not actually going to reduce production because overproduction is part of how labor is kept controlled
