PC HP scaling

in the bin. i'm calculating enemy damage per round ONCE and never again. also it keeps landing on 3.

Dice for doing shit

bin. garbage. dice for generating shit? awesome. dice for seeing if I jump that gap? garbage.

more on that, I as a player am perfectly capable of "doing things at cost" or "making a bad choice." I can! I CAN say the wrong thing, I CAN beef a step in a procedure! I don't need dice to tell me "oh, you see, sorry, you couldn't actually do that thing you described in detail how you would do. oops. too bad."

like even in diceless design, you're STILL gonna get someone who goes "I shoot the RPG in an enclose area" and you the GM get to say "Explosions are volumetric, you're dinged against the wall"

Players will Touch The Thing! They will!

General Systems

I think more games should be specific. Even within genre, shoot for microgenres. If I make a shounen game, it'd be a specific kind of shounen. Weapon-based Fight Academy with Partners. Bloodgorefuck Action about Devils. Masked Biotech Hero.

I'm cursed to roll like shit. I've gone multiple sessions of many games failing every save, missing every attack, and getting crit.

It's pure salty babyrage that I dislike dice.

On a more serious note, my intro to RP shit was freeform forum RP shit. Writing fancy starters, flaring purple prose like a peacock.

When shit clicked, it clicked. No dice needed.
But whens hit didn't click it's the worst shit ever.

And also many of my friends and acquaintances gigafumble with math and dice math.

and I very much have a whitewhale of a game design wherein combat's a Thing That Happens And Resolves Quickly. Like near JRPG random encounter speed.

For resolution, currently it's like, Resource Lock And Key, and OSR problem solving.

In Only Trust Your Fists, you'll be able to escalate any situation into a fist fight, because it's set in Neo-New York and everyone's a nanotech cyborg shitwreaker.

In Grave of God, you'll build your Approaches on character creation. You'll embody mix of the Seven Deadly Sins and Seven Heavenly Virtues, and can draw on them to Solve The Problem. You'll get like, per session/mission/dive, like 2 freebies. You say you use Wrath and describe how that solves the Problem before you.
