im sure there are legitimate economic reasons for it but it kinda baffles me that the default way liquids and powders are sold isnt “big barrels and sacks and stuff are sold to the stores and then the individual customer buys it by weight in containers brought from home”. like surely that would be cheaper and better for everyone. right???
