Fandom drama is wild rn but it can't hold a candle to the way it was in the livejournal era. Like... it was SO EASY back then to start a cult. Trivial. 18 year olds were doing it. People were so ready to go live in the house of some individual they met at a con once. And if you claimed that spike from buffy was sending you psychic messages? They just took that in stride.

oh god I wasn't even thinking about the FF7 house. there were multiple fandom cult houses!
IDK im pretty sure people still take psychic messages and "THIS fictional character REAL" pretty seriously.
