there's a post going around lamenting the low uptake of covid vaccines in canada or whatever. i agree! it's miserable.

my roommate and i just got back from a ride-aid to get out free* flu and covid shot. we did not get either.

why?

because that magic asterisk is "* with most insurance". you don't have insurance?

COVID vaccines! Only
$250+ ea

Yeah, cool, let me just spend nearly one-third of a month's rent on a vaccine.

There is not a single health care executive in the US that does not deserve to spend the rest of their eternity burning in the fires of hell.

Anyway, happy holidays!

in reply to @xkeeper's post:

they tried to charge my fiance $190 US for his and $70 US for his flu shot. we got it resolved by getting a manager involved to get him in on the bridge program in the states, but it only covered the covid jab

what do they mean by free if you have to have insurance. that costs money.

get health care from your job like everyone else does! nevermind that that also costs money and isn't always available and and and

they gave us some shitty post-it note with a mention of the bridge program after my roommate gave them some grief but beyond that yep, RIP us.
