If you're not reading My Dear Lass over on dynasty scans I highly recommend it (so far, of course, ongoing things are always asterisked). It's a very interesting manhua about a young woman who goes to a rural town in china to get away from the pressure of university and her home life, and falls for a slightly older woman there. I think the age gap is about seven years? It's all very slow and sweet, but it spends a lot of time on these women and their relationships and what it means for them to be queer, which is a super interesting thing to read given that it's coming out of china. Also the art is gorgeous.
Right now the translation is in the middle of a plot point about one of Xingyuan's (the younger woman) friends coming to visit her, to apologise for outing her to their class when they were in school. The story detours into a little flashback to show us their friendship, and why the outing happened, and then cuts back to the present. And the conversation between them is soooooo well written. Xingyuan tries to brush it all under the rug, and start over as friends, and pretend she wasn't hurt by it in this way that I think is super realistic and interesting. There's a great line where one of the other characters, an older woman, says that watching her is like watching a kid trying on an adult's clothes, it's really excellent character work all round.
