been thinking if i had an advice for people who want to write about niche games, it’s this:
write reviews that you know a kid/teen version of you would read and go “i have to learn japanese/figure out old computer tech for this”.
brainpoisoning people by bringing up these games and making them want to play it is what makes great effective writing for me. and i know what my kid version wants, so it helps cut through the bullshit and posturing a lot.
