posting thoughts that i think in my brain

saying goodbye to cohost has had me reflecting on my lack of community here. there are all these farewell posts talking about cool people, cool communities and i definitely didn't find that. i also didn't really seek it out; i'm always so much more of a lurker than a poster. i appreciated an algorithm-free, ad-free, slower social media and i feel like rss feeds are doing a pretty good job of replacing that. honestly i feel like i've made the most connections and done the most interacting with people here only after closing was announced.

i've made accounts in other places. i don't think i have a very big following here so i doubt that this will be news to many people, if anything i probably already followed you elsewhere if you're reading this.

so far mastodon is my preference
made an account on bluesky too but it feels too much like twitter and i'm not sure if i'll be that active there.

i'll be posting longform thoughts on my new personal blog

i have accounts on tumblr and twitter, but i don't think i'll be very active on there. i don't expect to ever use twitter ever again.

goodbye cohost, thanks for helping me to rethink how i use the internet
