new work - february 1st, 2024
today I've released an experimental short film, titled "resting place" - this is my first film project in almost five years. I recorded the footage at thornrose cemetery, a place that carries great meaning to me. my great-grandmother lived across the street. her house was my safe place as I child, and we often took walks to her husband's grave. when she was gone and the house was sold, that cemetery was still where I went to feel safe. when I've had nowhere to go, that is where I went. it holds so many moments of my life. this was filmed on my first return in quite a long time.
accompanying this film is a series of instant film photographs titled "cemetery pictures" - a moment frozen in time. these one-of-a-kind original photos are available now.

my affinity for the moving image has led me to some animation experiments, as well. I've created this video compilation of sixty-three paintings titled "faces" - if you'd like a piece of it, each frame is for sale for $5.
and finally, "figures" - five miniature sculptures. I've been holding onto these for a while, intending to incorporate them into a larger project that I turned away from. things take a different direction sometimes, but it's interesting what remains. they were created during a period of intense change, the only product of a brief moment.
as always, thank you for your interest in perceiving my work. I am grateful to be able to share it. the support I've received is astounding, and I'm ecstatic to be able to say that I have sold out of moth paintings! with that being said....
I will be releasing another collection of miniature paintings soon. this time, there will be many different insects... and a little game of sorts. release date to be announced.....
be well,
talula
