Sunday's great success: finally got diagnostics out of my car!
It only took:
- Rewiring the diagnostic port to use the modern OBD2 connector
- Adding a new ground wire because the one off the original diagnostic connector was bad. Somehow.
- Getting a copy of the VW specific diag software and and adapter
- Doing a 2am install of Windows 7 on my laptop, so I could use the diag software
And this let me discover:
- The brand new coolant temperature sensor I installed on Saturday is bad. Totally open circuit.
