Armed with my technical docs, I have attacked the truck with Knowledge and the power of carefully directed violence!
Good news:
- I have found what I believe to be the root cause
- Today is payday
- Joint pain is minimal so far
Bad news:
- It's the variable geometry turbo nozzle mechanism
- It's seized solid
- I'm going to have to remove and/or disassemble the turbo to fix it
- Every time I remove a part from these trucks, I break at least one bolt/stud in the process
- I snapped my T40 torx bit trying to remove the actuator bracket from the side of the exhaust housing
