's funny, the stuff that the Google Photos app reminds me about. This time: 8 years since I got my truck.
Would be nice to have made more progress on it than I have done, which is a constant frustration, but I've got to sit back and think about what I have managed; despite my ever-increasing workload, stretched budget, and struggles with disability!
I mean, since February 2016, when I got it:
- Engine's been lightly worked over, is now running on modern electronic ignition (fuel injection is next for it.), and has a whole new custom-built exhaust system
- Brakes now actually work. Still got to do a bunch of air system stuff to find out whether the air booster portion actually works like it should, and how well that makes 'em work, but hey.
- The cab is actually attached to the chassis by more than gravity! And I've fixed a bunch of the rotten, rusted metal.
- It has lights. Front, back and both sides. (Mostly! There's a few bits n pieces that need finishing up.)
I don't think I've done too bad for tinkering on weekends, or the odd burst of productivity when health permitted! Still got the nagging feeling that I should be Doing More, but hey.
