The home row of Dvorak keyboards varies greatly from that of QWERTY keyboards, beginning with the vowels "aoeu" instead of "asdf". In a study by Gretchen McCulloch, she talked with several Dvorak keyboard users who had given up keysmashing because the layout of their keyboards produced patterns that were "socially illegible".[1]

GOD. ME TOO. on my windows computer i have qwerty installed as an option specifically so i can switch to it and keysmash and type in dvorak the rest of the time
i have absolutely noticed that phone keysmashing and keyboard keysmashing are also very different, and i think some people used to mobile have adapted to make their keyboard smashes more like their phone ones
Oh this is so accurate, I usually say Dvorak produces keysmashes in another accent, but 'socially illegible' is both harsher and more accurate!
