the main function gendr() takes a set of names, with optional fields for location, method, language, and year. it then ignores all input and returns a list of question marks with one of several possible warnings telling you not to try to guess people's gender what is wrong with you

> genders <- gendr(names = c("Sam","Max","Brian"), years = 1987,
+ locations = "United States", languages = "English",
+ methods = "standard")
Warning: assigning a gender to someone else is an act of violence
> genders
name location language method year gender
1 Sam United States English standard 1987 ?
2 Max United States English standard 1987 ?
3 Brian United States English standard 1987 ?
