assuming no malice... i guess it doesn't really bother me much? if i got stunned i guess i'd find it a little annoying if they taunt, bc it's like "yeah yeah, get on with it."
i don't really encounter taunt users very often, and i never use them.
fair enough! “after stun” was, in my mind, the most disrespectful option.
so like.... i have the taunt button bound in xrd but i rarely use it because, against newer players i worry that'll feel very disheartening, and against veteran players, why bother?
but... then i see other people do Millia's Secret Garden setup just to lock the opponent down and taunt and i'm like, yeah okay that's pretty good. i wanna style on someone like that, but purely in a situation with stakes so people know i'm risking glory to flex for a moment. i will only taunt for an audience.
yeah, that concern about being disheartening is what prompted to me to write this post, i wanted to know the general etiquette. i like taunts as a way of non-violently expressing that i'm having fun!! in a game that's all about violence... it is ironic that the only nonviolent moves can inflict real life dmg. i worry that people will think im mocking them or insulting them,.
Honestly I'm so bad at multitasking I can't remember to taunt unless I want a specific replay or something, and even then..
Aw thanks! Love yours as well!! (Idk if there's more context but the glasses are cool)
oh they’re the glasses of the protagonist from the comic Transmetropolitan!
The one I feel like I run into the most in all fighting games is the "more or less even match so far when we reach a stalemate and both retreat to neutral and stay crouched for like 10 seconds"
"go ahead."
"no, please, go ahead."
"i insist, you make the first move."
"you're too kind. come on, try pressing a button."
I am a strong advocate of when you're getting thrashed in a long set; you can just switch to Dan and start taunting.
