here’s an example:
often when I’m going outside i worry that people will be mean to me. however, if i tell myself "we should look out for that but before worrying about other people being mean to me let's worry about whether I am being mean to me."
this redirection helps a lot because the question is easy to answer and whether I am or am not being nice to myself has a pretty immediate resolution. after this, the anxiety is kind of 'resolved' and i can be more at peace and chiller because i'm actively choosing to be nice to myself.
i don't know if this will help anyone else but it has been getting me through some anxiety spikes lately!!
