i usually write these to cool down after exercising but today i couldn’t get distracted enough so now im writing this while on the bike. this is not my ideal way of writing— in fact the device im writing this on got its screen cracked because of me doing this very thing.
yesterday i had a really weird anime moment…. i was watching utena episode 34 and it felt sooo strange. like i was watching an internal memory or dream projected in waking life. this is not a feeling i enjoy.
anyway, i ended up looking into whether it was possible that i watched utena during my childhood, and it was definitely possible. the over-the-air channels i watched in the 90s didn’t really keep records but i’ve found some confirmation that utena was aired. the dub is considered partially lost media, but it was only partially aired, as far as i could find, and the episode that triggered me was not officially aired. there are people who claim it was aired in its entirety in their own country so conceivably thats how i could have watched it. in any case, there are some people in chile who own some of the only recordings of the dub, and they’re part of the fgc so i might end up approaching them if only for curiosity.
btw if you know about any pixel artists that do stream overlays tell me i have a commission… stay weird everybody
