I thought not. It's not a story the Academy would tell you. 2010 was an incredibly year for movies, they were so beautiful and so well-crafted they increased the amount of nominees for Best Picture to ten. Unfortunately, the Academy could not handle the responsibility of picking the best among the best, and chose the corniest ,dumbest, most awards-baity, old-white-man flavored, W O R S T movie among them.

A wikipedia infobox showing the winner and nominees for the 83rd academy awards. By far the worst movie among them won.

That's right. They picked """"The King's Speech"""" over Black Swan, Inception, The Social Network, True Grit and Winter's Bone.

I'm just sharing this on the eve of this year's Oscars to remind you that the people who get to vote can and will pick the worst movie presented to them if it looks Prestigious enough.

I was working in LA at the time and it's just this on repeat, the old white fucks who decide whats award worthy are the same people demanding people sweeps in the city, even though they live safely in the hills 🥴
