malls are like an american parody of walkable spaces. i went to an outdoor mall today and it was lined and infested with roads and parking lots, like a parasite, like a tumor spreading through its veins. and even then all we can imagine is shops, tiny patches of sterile astroturf, two starbucks 1000 feet apart. what a nightmare
