yeah they pulled in shitloads of random teen pixel artists, and whether piecemeal or in some cases through months long systemic underpayment or denial of payment a good portion of the game's assets, at least for a certain development period, were mostly stolen or pried from said overwhelmingly-queer-in-demographic teen pixel artists. i wouldn't know where to find a good unified source on this 'scandal' because it was mostly something that was a small random story about a few people and then like every trans woman sprite enjoyer alive came out in the 2-3 years after that initial story to say "they got me too" but i dont think it ever really got further coverage
