  1. Fly or Die Fly or Die Fly or Die ((world war)), by jaimie branch

It's always heartbreaking to just be getting into a new artist and discovering just how deep and intricate and forceful their work is, only to discover they're recently deceased. As it turns out, this posthumously-released punk-jazz masterpiece is jaimie's last.

“We’re gonnagonnagonna take over the world, give it give it give it back-back-back to the la-la-la-land.”

— jaimie breezy branch (6/17/83 – 8/22/22)

Standout Tracks: Burning Grey, The Mountain, Baba Louie

  1. Phone Orphans, by Laura Veirs

Laura Veirs has been one of my favorite musicians for many years now. This album (her fourteenth) features impeccable songwriting with a much more stripped-down, intimate, and less produced sound than her past albums, most songs being simple cell phone recordings of vocals and acoustic guitar alone.

Standout tracks: Rocks of Time, Tree Climber, Valentine

  1. Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds), by Yves Tumor

"Hot Between Worlds? More like Album Between Genres, am I right ladies? Eheh?"

crickets

(seriously tho this album's really good I just have absolutely no idea how to categorize it lmao)

Standout tracks: Lovely Sewer, Meteora Blues, In Spite of War
