They turned my linode into a fucking akamai. What the hell is an akamai??
are there any cloud hosting companies that are as good as linode was? i don't trust their vps service to not go in the toilet at some point
Wait what the hell? I'm using Linode for my VPS, because DigitalOcean won't let me host my own email (they told me to use Google's services which are stupidly expensive for one guy and his mother for non-gmail.com addresses)

I’ve just been rolling from one 90-day/$300 GCP trial to the next as they expire tbh. They don’t seem to care if you use the same card and PN to sign up for a new trial under a new email. They kinda suck, but effectively free, and a huge network presence that lets you route stuff over their dark fiber instead of the public internet, ingressing through whichever anycast border router is nearest, if you like for vpn stuff
Oracle has a decent free tier if you use an ampere arm chip VM. Their service sucks really bad though, even compared to google
I've had decent experiences with Vultr and IIRC they would try to stay price matched with or below Linode, or at least within close range of it for the non-VPS features.
haven't used linode but i've been p happy with ssdnodes.com on account of them being cheap as hell
