So everyone is popping off about Steamboat Willie being put in the public domain after too damn long, which is great and all! But that was only one of the three early Mickey Mouse shorts to enter the public domain this year. The second and third shorts are Plane Crazy and The Gallopin' Gaucho. But there's a catch: it's only the animation that went into the public domain. The audio that goes alongside them? That won't go into the public domain until next year!
But what's stopping people from making their own audio tracks for these shorts now? ๐
