The specs are to come out next year but the actual implementation into hardware takes way longer. To note, we only as of last year started getting PCIe 5 data pipes in hardware.

im not deep into tech so these specs dont mean anything to me, but reading the words "coil whine" makes me 😬

imo the power of a machine is second to how nice and peaceful it is to use; the fans should be quiet, it shouldnt heat up the room and make you uncomfortable, no coil whine, no rattling in the case when you bump it, for mobile devices the battery life needs to last long

all the power in the world doesnt matter if physically using the device makes you want to turn it off lol

Basically, coil whine is when you can literally hear the flow of electrons inside a device. Higher speed electronics are more likely to generate coil whine, so 512GB/sec is very likely to make noise unless the motherboard is incredibly well designed to not generate interference.

And they ain't gonna spend that much money on that
